has enjoyed a life-long career as a playwright, director, composer, actor, and comedian.

After earning his Master of Fine Arts degree Steve performed with Minnesota Opera, The Guthrie Theatre, and Dudley Riggs’ Brave New Workshop.

In 1977 he moved to Texas to become the director of Houston’s first comedy club, The Comedy Workshop. In 1985 he left to start his own venture, Radio Music Theatre.

In addition to writing all of RMT’s comedy and music, Steve hosted the T.V. series “Secret’s Out”, created film shorts for “Saturday Night Live,” wrote and performed with National Public Radio’s “All Things Considered,” and acted in numerous films and commercials. His most famous creation, “The Singing Fertle Family," is based upon his own relatives in rural Iowa.

fell in love with the stage as a child and performed his way straight through to a Master of Fine Arts degree in theatre at The University of Minnesota.

After acting and directing professionally in Minneapolis for several years, Rich moved to Houston In 1977 to become a charter member of The Comedy Workshop.

In the 1980s he left the stage temporarily to become the restaurant critic on the popular T.V. show "P.M. Magazine”.

Rich also appeared in feature films and radio and television commercials, but he returned to the theatre to join RMT in 1992.

Rich enjoys many avocations including woodworking, wine, and website design--including the website you are now viewing.

came from a theatre family in St Louis, Missouri, where she began performing as a child.

After earning her degree in theatre at Fontbonne College, Vicki taught dance in Minneapolis, performed with Michigan’s Barn Theatre, and acted aboard The Showboat Rhododendron on the Mississippi. It was there that she first met and performed with Steve and Rich.

After marrying Steve, they moved to Houston to become original members of The Comedy Workshop.

Between performances Vicki gave birth to a son and a daughter.

As RMT’s Managing Director Vicki is busier off-stage than on, but she still finds time to remain a popular voice talent in radio and television commercials and industrial films.

Mark (we call him “Chops”) sits in his loft where he runs lights and slides while adding the occasional background voice or sound effect. 

Pat, down below, is busier than a little baby owl as he sings, plays keyboards and guitar, mixes sound, provides off-stage character voices, and creates some very funny live sound effects using only his mouth, his imagination, and a microphone.
